Musings on a Cloudy Sunday

********

Halloween has come and gone and now we are into November and looking forward to our next holiday, Thanksgiving. That is another holiday that was never celebrated here, obviously , since it is truly an American holiday. Over the years though, Thanksgiving is more widely practiced on the island. Every restaurant has Thanksgiving dinner specials and some local people prepare Thanksgiving meals. St. Maarten people love to eat and are happy to have an excuse for a big dinner and party.

The St. Maarten Zoo had their annual Halloween party on Friday night in the middle of the most horrendous thunder and lightning storm. We thought no one would show up, but over a hundred people came out, dressed in fabulous costumes. Everyone got soaked, the storm was fierce, and none of us cared. We all had so much fun.
I thought you would enjoy seeing some pictures I took.

I have good friends who just arrived on the island for a visit. They came to the party and got into the spirit of things too. LOL
